• We focus on reducing stress and promoting comfort for people with cancer and their families and friends by offering programs and services in a non-institutional and home-like setting.
• Our staff of volunteers and professionals is familiar with effects of cancer on a personal basis and genuinely offers understanding, encouragement, and hope.
• We are respectful of each person’s coping strategies and the decisions s/he makes about treatment of his/her cancer and the use of any services we offer.
• Trust, integrity and open communication are intrinsic to the job satisfaction of all staff.
• The Cancer House of Hope is open to members of the cancer community, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnicity or religion.

• To be perceived and embraced as a supportive, caring and hopeful place of healing by cancer survivors, their families and friends, the healthcare community and the community-at-large
• To be known and respected throughout the healthcare industry and to be an automatic referral when a patient is diagnosed with cancer
• To be known and accessed as a valuable resource for families and professionals working with children and adolescents dealing with cancer in their lives
• To be perceived and embraced by local businesses and organizations as a valuable resource to the community deserving of financial support
• To serve as the prototype for cancer support communities throughout western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut
